You Are Where You Eat

I went to a couple Seacoast Local meetings in Portsmouth to see if there was anything I could do to get more involved with a cause I believe in. I've got a special place in my heart and dreams for gardening, farming and local farmers -- and I love good, fresh food. A group of local organizations decided to create a fabric bag to sell at the Farmers' Markets and I helped them put it together. (Click on that link and see the tote bags on their home page!)

A Couple Other Things

So far I've only built cabinets that have painted finishes... 'cause it's more forgiving when hiding educational mistakes! Eventually I'll work my way up to building natural finish pieces -- like Brian's mahogany vanity or Dan's oak hutch.

The Latest

Here's the cabinet I just finished building. It's for a giant size TV (it sits on top) with adjustable shelves and access in the back for all the wiring.

Finished Vanity

So here are a couple shots of the vanity that I mentioned before -- now it's all painted and gone for installation.

What's Happenin' in Our Yard

Less impressive than the last post, but dearer to our hearts. The Siberian Irises are starting to bloom... they look really good this year and I'm excited. These were the first couple to open and there are lots more to come. The peonies and lilies look like they might have a grand showing too.

Home Made Panoramic Photos

Of a sort! These are pictures I took on our trip to PA and I finally put them together so you could see how lovely the garden around the spring house was, and how BIG the wisteria trellis is at Longwood Gardens. If you look carefully in the center of the wisteria photo, you'll spot Michael.
